TS Train Speed Test

Train Speed vs GPS Speed Explained

Why your browser speedometer may not always match official train speed information.

GPS Speed Is Device-Based

Your phone estimates speed from its own location changes. Official train systems may use onboard sensors, railway systems or operational data instead.

Timetable Speed Is Different

A timetable may describe average journey speed or scheduled travel time. Your live GPS speed changes every moment as the train accelerates, slows or stops.

Signal Quality Matters

If GPS accuracy drops, the browser reading may update slowly or briefly differ from expected train speed. This is normal in tunnels, stations and dense areas.

Use It as a Helpful Estimate

Train Speed Test is best used as a quick passenger tool for curiosity and trip tracking. It should not be treated as official railway data.
